How to play Rummy

Open Rummy on any TV or laptop with a web browser. Everyone joins at hangtime.games/play on their phone with the four-letter code. Then:

  1. Pick Indian 13-card or American Rummy in the lobby, and how many deals to play.
  2. On your turn, draw from the deck or the open pile, then discard one card.
  3. Indian 13-card: arrange your 13 cards into sequences and sets, including at least one pure sequence and one more sequence, then declare. Lowest total points after all deals wins.
  4. American: lay down sets and runs, add to other players' melds, and be first to go out.
  5. Live hints and one-tap Auto-arrange help, and Declare only lights up when your hand is valid. Full rules are in the game under "How to play".

Who it's for

Good for

Families who grew up playing Rummy at Diwali or every holiday, cousins in different cities, and anyone teaching the game to someone new. The hints and the valid-hand check mean nobody has to referee.

Playing apart

Rummy plays remotely too: your hand and the table show on your phone, so the family can play together across cities over a video call. It's for points, never real money.

Part of the Launch Pack: $5 once (founder price, $10 later), and it's yours forever. Only the host buys it and signs in. Players always join free.
