A multiplayer Wordle-style game to play with friends
Wordy Birdy is the five-letter word game you know, for a whole room. Everyone guesses the same word on their own phone, with no clock, and the TV shows everyone's progress in colors only, never letters, so nobody can copy. It's free.
Looking for Hangtime's Hang Five? It's the same game with a new name: Wordy Birdy.

How to play Wordy Birdy
Open Wordy Birdy on any TV or laptop with a web browser. Everyone joins at hangtime.games/play on their phone with the four-letter code. Then:
- Everyone gets six guesses at the same five-letter word. After each one the tiles change color: green is the right letter in the right spot, yellow is in the word but somewhere else, gray isn't in the word.
- The TV shows everyone's colors, never their letters, so you can see who's close without anyone peeking.
- Scoring: 100 for solving it, +20 for every guess you didn't need, and +50 for the Early Bird who solves it first. Not solving costs nothing.
- There's no clock, so everyone gets to finish. Stuck? Ask Birdy for a hint: up to 3 a word, a letter that's in it, then letters in their spots. Each hint takes 30 off your points, or 15 once someone else has solved it, and any solve still earns at least 25.
- A round ends when everyone has solved it or used their six guesses. Then the word is revealed with everyone's guesses.
- Play 3, 5 or 7 rounds. Words are common everyday words and never repeat in your room.
Who it's for
Good for
Anyone who already compares their daily word-puzzle scores in the group chat. It's quick to learn, calm enough for grandparents and competitive enough for everyone else.
Playing apart
Wordy Birdy plays remotely too, so it works as Wordle with friends over a video call. On your own? Pick Play on my own: it's you against the word, with Birdy's hints if you need them.
Free for everyone, with no account. Players join at hangtime.games/play with the room code.
