The Fishbowl game, online, with no paper slips

Bowl Game is the party classic also known as Fishbowl or Salad Bowl. Everyone secretly writes names for the bowl on their phone, then two teams race the clock to guess them, three rounds running. No pens, no paper, no lost slips under the couch.

How to play Bowl Game

Open Bowl Game on any TV or laptop with a web browser. Everyone joins at hangtime.games/play on their phone with the four-letter code. Then:

  1. Fill the bowl: everyone secretly writes 3 to 5 names or things on their phone. Tap Idea? if you're stuck.
  2. Teams take turns. One player per turn is the clue-giver: their phone shows one slip at a time. Tap Got it when your team says it, or Pass to send it to the bottom of the bowl.
  3. Round 1, Describe it: say anything except the word itself. Round 2, One word: just one word per slip. Round 3, Act it out: no talking, charades rules.
  4. All three rounds use the same slips, so the inside jokes pile up. A round ends when the bowl is empty, and every slip goes back in for the next one.
  5. Every slip your team guesses is a point. If the bowl empties mid-turn, you keep the time you had left for the next round.

Who it's for

Good for

Bigger groups: parties, holidays, team socials and family reunions, with room for up to 16 players. The other team's phones show the slip too, so they can keep you honest.

Playing apart

Bowl Game plays remotely too, so it works as the salad bowl game over Zoom or any video call. The game runs on everyone's phone, the clue-giver's phone shows their slip, and the act-it-out round works fine on camera.

Part of the Launch Pack: $5 once (founder price, $10 later), and it's yours forever. Only the host buys it and signs in. Players always join free.
