How to play Who's Lying?

Open Who's Lying? on any TV or laptop with a web browser. Everyone joins at hangtime.games/play on their phone with the four-letter code. Then:

  1. Each case has an evidence board of 16 things on the TV.
  2. Everyone's phone shows which item is the secret, except one player: the Liar. Hold your role card to peek, so neighbors can't snoop.
  3. Take turns giving a one-word clue. Know the secret? Prove it without giving it away. The Liar has to bluff.
  4. Talk it out, then vote. A tie lets the Liar slip away.
  5. Caught Liars get one guess at the secret to steal the case. Scoring: the Liar escapes, +3 for them. Caught but guesses right, +2 for them. Caught and wrong, +2 for everyone who voted for them and +1 for the other players.

Who it's for

Good for

Groups who love imposter and hidden-role games like Spyfall, Werewolf or Among Us, and families too: the murder-mystery cases are cartoonish, nobody really gets hurt. Rounds are fast, so everyone gets a turn as the Liar.

Playing apart

Who's Lying? has a remote mode: the evidence board and your secret role card show on every phone, so it works as an imposter game online over a video call.

Part of the Launch Pack: $5 once (founder price, $10 later), and it's yours forever. Only the host buys it and signs in. Players always join free.

Questions

How is Who's Lying? like Spyfall?

Both are hidden-role games where everyone shares a secret except one player, who has to blend in. In Who's Lying? the secret is one of 16 items on an evidence board, everyone gives a single one-word clue, and a caught Liar gets one guess to steal the case.

Can we play it online with friends?

Yes. Pick Who's Lying? under "Can't all be in one room?" at hangtime.games/play and share the code. The whole game runs on everyone's phone, so it works over any video call.

How many players do you need?

3 to 10 players.

How much does it cost?

Who's Lying? is part of the Launch Pack, a one-time $5 (founder price, $10 later) that also unlocks Best Answer Wins, Rummy and Bowl Game. Only the host buys it; players always join free.

Is it OK for kids?

Yes. It's family-friendly: the crimes are cartoonish, and nobody really gets hurt.
