Looking for a Quiplash alternative?
We love Quiplash. Writing a one-liner under pressure and watching it win a matchup is about as good as party games get. The catch for some groups is the setup: you need the right Party Pack on a device that runs it.
How the two compare
In Quiplash, everyone writes answers from scratch, then pairs of answers go head to head while everyone else votes. In Best Answer Wins, you mostly play answer cards from your hand, but every player gets 3 blank cards a game to type their own answer. So writers still get their moment, and people who freeze up when asked to be funny on the spot still have something to play.

If you want more Quiplash-style chaos
Who's Lying? scratches a different itch: it's a bluffing game, but the arguing after the clues is very Quiplash-y. And Doodler is free, if your group is more drawers than writers.
If your group lives for writing jokes from scratch and you have a device that runs Jackbox, Quiplash is the right call. If you want something you can open on any TV tonight with nothing installed, give Best Answer Wins a go.
Put a game on the TV, everyone joins from their phone. Three games are free, no app or account.
