Super Bowl party games for halftime (and the slow bits)
Every Super Bowl party has two audiences: people who care about the game, and people who care about the guacamole. Games are for the second group, plus everyone during halftime and those long ad breaks.
Halftime: short and loud
- Sports trivia. Put Trivia Board on the TV with the Sports category, and everyone buzzes in from their phone. Pick three categories for a game that fits inside halftime.
- Draw the play. Doodler rounds take a few minutes. Football words are hilarious to draw.
Before kickoff: team games
While people are arriving, run Fishbowl in two teams. Fill the bowl with players, team names and famous commercials from past years. Bowl Game takes up to 16 people, and you can stop between rounds.
Tips
Use a second screen if the party TV is busy: a laptop on the kitchen counter is plenty for a game. Set up the game before people arrive so it's one tap to start. And never, ever ask the people watching the fourth quarter to play.
Put a game on the TV, everyone joins from their phone. Three games are free, no app or account.
