How to play Pictionary online with friends
Pictionary is close to a perfect party game. The paper version just comes with chores: finding paper, finding a timer, arguing about whether that guess counted. A phone version handles all that and puts the drawing on the TV where everyone can see how bad it is.
How online draw-and-guess works
- On your turn, pick an easy, medium or hard word.
- Draw it on your phone. No letters or numbers! The drawing appears on the TV as you go.
- Everyone else types guesses. The first correct guess ends the turn.
Scoring in Doodler
Each turn starts worth 100. Hints reveal letters as the clock runs down, and each hint drops the prize (100, 75, 50, 25). The first correct guesser gets the prize, and so does the artist, so drawing fast and clearly pays. After each turn, players can heart the drawing for bonus points even if nobody guessed it.
Playing with kids
Kid mode swaps typing for six multiple-choice picks, so kids who can't spell yet can still guess.
Other free options
skribbl.io is a popular free draw-and-guess site with private rooms, and Gartic Phone mixes drawing with the Telephone game. Both are great over a video call. Doodler is the one to pick if you want the drawing on a TV for a room full of people.
Draw on your phone, guess on the TV. Free, 2 to 10 players, with a kid mode.
